This is an easy recipe from the Antilles, the French Caribbean islands: The famous Banane flambée.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 100 g butter about 1 stick
  • 1 cup sugar or enough to cover your pan
  • ½ cup ruhm

Instructions
 

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cover the pan with sugar and melt it at medium/low heat.
  • Add the juice of the orange and lemon once the sugar is starting to melt.
  • Then Add the butter.
  • Once it is all melted, you can add the peeled bananas.
    You can also cut them in two in the length of the fruit if you prefer.
  • Lets them caramelize and drizzle the sauce onto the bananas during the cooking time.
    Turn them over when one side is golden and ready.
  • Then gather the Rhum and some matches.
    Poure the ruhm into the pan and quickly light a match and flambe the banananas.
    Let the fire die down by itself.
  • Carefully place the bananas on a plate, drizzle withe some sauce and it is read.
