Creme de marrons / Chestnut cream

This is a simple sweet chestnut spread for toast, crepes, waffles, etc...

Ingredients
 
 

  • 400 g chestnuts already cooked in a box or jar or sous-vide or by yourself fresh or frozen.
  • 260 g granulated sugar
  • 25 cl water

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve the sugar into the water. Mash the (already cooked) chestnuts.
  • In a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook over medium heat (simmering) for about 15 min.
  • Mix it all together with a hand mixer or in a blender.
    Et voilà!

Notes

If you want to keep it longer, it is ideal for canning in jars.
